"We took my son to Maui for graduation. We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful condo. The views from the lanai were amazing. We walked to the beach every night, swam in the ocean, laid on the sand and enjoyed the sun. The complex is peaceful, quiet and has terrific outdoor amenities. We had the best first time experience on Maui. We will be back for sure!"

"Our Family of four with two teenagers vacationed over spring break. The kids had their own room and bath, plenty of space in condo for all. We loved the fully stocked closet of water sports equipment. We never had to purchase anything for our stay. We used the snorkel gear, beach chairs and boogie boards. Condo is about one mile from center of town easy to get for activities and meals out but loved coming back to watch the Maui sunsets in a quite spot each night after the day. We did a surf class by beach boys and love it! Margie was very easy to work with on all arrangements. Highly recommend!"

"My husband and I came here for our 2 yr anniversary. It was our first time to Hawaii and we fell in love with the entire experience! This condo is in a great location for sight seeing, shopping, and the beach! We were able to see whales from our balcony and the beach was pretty secluded. My husband and I enjoyed BBQ'ing and swimming in the outdoor pool as well. We will definitely be back and are so thankful that Margie shared their awesome, relaxing condo with us!"

"This was my first vacation in Maui and it was awesome. The listing and the pictures are so accurate it's like reliving my experience in Maui all over again. The condo is extremely clean and well stocked, right down to playthings for the beach. The property and the grounds are constantly being attended to by the condo staff. The concierge was great and usually had some type of a discount on just about any activity I inquired about It is also very convenient to anything I needed or wanted to do I shopped at the Safeway store which was just a short distance from the condo. Good places I ate at where Stella's and Moose McGillicuddy's. Moose McGillicuddy's has a prime rib and lobster special on Friday night which was to die for. The UPS store was quite convenient (in the same strip mall as Long's Drug) for me to ship all the extra things I bought back home. The bus line also runs right in front of the condo for anyone who doesn't have a car accessible. Basically, a great experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone."

"We really enjoyed our stay at your Condo in Kihei! It was very comfortable, a great location, right on the ocean and everything you said it would be, plus more. Maui is a very special place to visit. The snorkling and beaches are exceptional. It's a beautiful and fun island to experience. We would love to revisit and stay at your Condo again. Thank you so much, we had many wonderful times there."

Email from a Legacy co-worker after returning from vacation:

HI Margie—

Turning 50 was much easier on Maui!
I have found where I plan to spend my retirement!
We had a fantastic trip—thanks to the great accommodations!

You condo is lovely—and quite comfortable.
We felt right at home from the moment we walked in the door.
From the décor to the supplies, to the view—we had everything we needed.
We met several of the residents there—all so very friendly and offered great advice on restaurants and activities.
The first thing we did when we arrived was walk out to the beach and enjoy the breathtaking view and stepped into the water—so warm!
Most of our time spent IN the condo was actually spent OUTside--on the lanai! Just taking in the view and relaxing.

We enjoyed just about everything we could—the beaches, snorkeling & scuba trip to Molokini (highly recommend the Four Winds II), the road to Hana, the Old Lahaina Luau, and dinner at Mama’s Fish House (yes, we are tourists!).
Just walking around Kihei and meeting the locals & other visitors enriched our experience.
Coming back to the condo each day was so welcoming and so relaxing.

I’ve had several co-workers & family members ask about your condo & for you web address—so expect to hear from them.

"My parents and my husband and I spent 11 days in Maui. It was one of the best vacations any of us have ever taken and most importantly we were able to do it on an affordable budget in Maui! The price of the condo is what caught my attention because the last time we stayed in Maui it was close to $300 per night. I can honestly say that the condo far exceeded our expectations! The condo had breathtaking views from the living room and both master bedrooms with two different patios to take full advantage of a 180 degree view of the ocean. Each bedroom had a large newly remodeled master bathroom. We brought a carry on cooler filled with frozen meats (no ice) from home, which saved us lots of money and we made full use of the kitchen and outdoor BBQ's for our breakfast, lunch, and dinners. Each night we looked forward to enjoying some time in the hot tub, where we were able to meet lots of great people from all over the US. We were also able to meet some locals while taking a wonderful walk on the beach. The location of the condo was perfect because we were only about 20 minutes from Lahaina, 5 minutes from the airport, and 15 minutes from luxury resorts that house even more fantastic beaches. This condo is highly recommended, it is definitely the best bang for your buck!"

"I enjoyed 11 blissful days in Maui staying at Kauhale Makai - Village by the Sea. I have been to Maui many times but this was my first time staying in Kihei and also in a condo vs. hotel. The condo was as perfect as the pictures. It is spacious and beautifully decorated in island style. It truly felt like a home away from home in a tropical paradise. There is an ocean view in every room and a lanai off both the living room and master bedroom. There is a bathroom in each bedroom and when in your room you have complete privacy. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need so it was nice to be able to have some of our meals there. There are grocery stores nearby including a Safeway. We enjoyed using the propane bbqs a few evenings and of course sitting on the lanai and watching the sunset was wonderful. Kihei is a great little beach town with everything nearby -- shops, restaurants, cafes, music and 6 miles of different beaches one after another. There are no big hotel crowds or parking problems and everyone is friendly. It was nice to be amongst the locals as well as other visitors. The pace is slow and relaxing. The condo is also the perfect location for easy traveling to any of the other parts of the island and sightseeing. The grounds of the condo are very well maintained as well as the pool and jacuzzi area so it was very nice spending time there and not always being on the go. I enjoyed every moment and came home relaxed and very well rested. I know I will enjoy staying at the Village by the Sea in the future! It truly was Maui Bliss!"

"My family spent 9 wonderful days in Maui. It was so nice to stay in the condo instead of a hotel. It had everything we needed and we loved it. It's roomy, comfortable, very clean, and private. The kitchen is well equipped, even a blender for making yummy pina coladas! The pool area is really nice and the grounds around the condo are well maintained. The use of the boogie boards and all the beach stuff was a life saver. I loved the lanai and would sit out there every morning and soak in the unobstructed view!! It's very peaceful. All the beaches around the condo are clean and beautiful. I know we will stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Maui. Margie was excellent to work with and the staff at the condo are very helpful as well."

"We were very pleased with your condo. The location, layout of the condo, the view from the lanais, amenities, all were excellent. There is an elevator for use. The condo was very quiet and nicely decorated (very modern). The kitchen has everything you need to make it feel like home. We appreciated being able to use the beach towels, chairs, cooler and mats. You have such a nice view of the palm trees and ocean from both bedrooms. Most condo's don't offer a view from all the bedrooms. The location is very central and is a very short drive to many of the other great beaches, stores and restaurants. We also enjoyed our meals at the BBQ's in the evenings. The BBQ's were clean and we ate at the tables provided. The tiki torches were a nice touch. The market at the college on Saturdays is a must. You can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and more at the market. We drove the road to Hana and stopped to hike through the bamboo forest and up to the waterfall. Don't forget to stop and buy some fresh banana bread and coconut candy from the stands. We took an afternoon catamaran to Molokini to snorkel. It was a great trip. We had fun at Bubba Gumps in Lahaina - great place to watch the sun set. Fun to walk around in Old Town Lahaina. We drove to the top of the mountain one day. You can tell from the condo if it is a good day to go up. If the clouds are low or there are none in sight, hop in the car. It is worth the drive. Stop 1/2 way down afterwards to take in the zip-line. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your home with us."

"We spent two weeks in this wonderful accommodation to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. One week was spent with friends with whom we share the same day and month for their an anniversary, just 11 years earlier. The condo was very clean and spacious and a fantastic home-base for all our adventures. Sunrise on Haleakala, snorkeling at Makena Landing, zip lines near Makawo, navigating the road to Hana (and back), riding Harleys around 'Ulupalakua, along with many hikes and time relaxing at the pool. We will forever remember the magnificent sunsets on the lanai. We will be back to Maui and plan to stay here again."

"This was my first visit to Hawaii and it was truly 'bliss'. The condo was just as described - spacious, very clean and comfortable, extremely well stocked, quiet location, and great views. We used the beach supplies almost daily(towels, mats, umbrellas, coolers and boogie boards). This location is very central to almost every place you may go on the island. We drove the road to Hana, went to the Old Lahaina Luau, snorkeled at Makena and several other close beaches, and took surf lessons at Goofy Foot. It was relaxing to just handout at the condo, too - playing shuffleboard, watching the birds and whales and sunsets. It was easy to stock up on supplies for the week at Costco (right by the airport) and get all other items needed at nearby Safeway and Longs Drugs, There are also rental shops close by. Owner Margie was very easy to contact and quick to respond to all questions. Would love to return again!"
